We’ve have talked about Alone at 3AM before here on ENS, and I have always counted myself as a fan of this criminally underrated Cincinnati group. The guys play some great Americana, in the same vein at Drive-By Truckers or Lucero, and I just got my first taste of …

Tomorrow night, Louisville’s own My Morning Jacket will be here in the Cincinnati area for a show at PNC Pavilion. It promises to be a great show, if for no other reason than the fact that MMJ is one of the best live bands around and is touring a really strong album in Circuital. But there are plenty of other reasons to get yourself down to the show tomorrow night as well, so I thought I would lay out three off the top of my head.

Have you heard the latest offering from Handsome Furs yet? In my opinion, it’s their best to date and with the recent announcement of Wolf Parade’s ‘indefinite hiatus’, its the closest thing to WP that fans can experience.

Sean Daley (aka Slug) is one busy guy. A few days ago, he managed to squeeze in time for a quick conversation with Each Note Secure while tending to press duties at the KahBang Music Festival in Maine. Even with all his obligations of the day, Daley came …

One thing Cincinnati isn’t probably known for is dirty punk rock (no offense to Cincy Punk Fest, which is great.) That’s not to say they haven’t had their fair share of it through the years, but it has never been big enough to rival the garage rock or even pop music scene here in the Queen City. VACATION wants to change that. Or at least, they want you to know they are here and brandishing their brand of noisy punk music.

It feels like forever since I was listening to The Music, a promising young brit band who released a great debut album back in 2002. I saw them open for Coldplay right around that same time and really thought they were fun live as well.

Last week, Heartless Bastards returned home and played a great acoustic set for the crowd at Southgate House in Newport. Our photographer Keith Klenowski was on hand and sent over a few photos and a video from the show. The video features Erika doing a great Bob Dylan cover of the song “You Ain’t Goin Nowhere.” Enjoy!
