The majority of the bands that end up here are already signed to a fine indie label, although quite a few are not. Pela is an example of a band that is not signed. I got a chance to take in their set at the Midwest Music Summit last month and was quite impressed despite their poor placement in the MMS lineup.

They played early afternoon and there were only about a dozen of us in attendance. The band played a great set though, and I became an instant fan. Afterwards a short conversation with the lead singer uncovered that the band needed to get back to New York by 9 that night because he had a bartending job to attend to. Later I found out that social networking upcomers Imeem brought Pela in and that would explain the amount of photos being taken in the sparsely populated bar. You can see all the photos here.

I really think these guys will be signed soon, and Im really enjoying what ive heard so far, have a listen for yourself.
