Pink Nasty is not what you would expect from the name alone. My first impressions to the name had me thinking hip hop. Especially when I realized the connection to her brother, Black Nasty, who is a hip hopper with a rather foul rhyming habit. But it really couldnt be much different.
Pink Nasty, aka Sara Beck, instead brings a quality brand of Americana to the table. With beautiful vocals and a quirky and energetic approach to songwriting, Pink Nasty stands out from her Americana peers for sure. I must admit though that the duet with Bonnie Prince Billy was what initially caught my attention, and its a great tune, but the rest of the album is worthy of your attention in its own right.
Pink Nasty’s album, “Mold The Gold”, which was recorded in Shelbyville, Kentucky by Paul Oldham and Steve Squire, is the second album from Sara.
