(Everything Is Alive Album Art)
The last year plus has been a great time here in Cincinnati for new bands. There are quite a few that have arisen and grabbed my attention. One of the bands that I truly believe has as much if not more potential to really succeed among that group is Pomegranates. The 4-piece indie popsters really got my attention last year with their Two Eyes EP, and have been doing the same for many in the time since.
They got to open for Peter Bjorn and John last fall, played a Lounge act on WOXY.com, and recently scored some opening dates for Islands after the bands hit it off here in Cincinnati.
And probably most importantly, they just dropped their debut full length album, Everything Is Alive earlier this month. Easily my favorite local album so far this year, Everything Is Alive combines all the sugary sweet melodies and hooks of Two Eyes with some well crafted songwriting and polished instrumentation. And really, when it comes down to it, this record is just loads of fun.
I am really hoping this album exposes them to even more people and pushes them ahead even more as well. Everything Is Alive is out now on Lujo Records, pick up your copy by going here.
And just in case you can’t get enough of the Poms, check out the new blog they started here.

Their album art reminds me of Menomena’s Friend or Foe album art, don’t you think?
