Radical Face – Ghost

Radical Face is the project of Ben Cooper, he of 24 years and half of Electric President. It seems earlyradical-face-02-screen.jpg in a career to be branching out for a side project, especially after Electric President had released only one album. Its an interesting turn as well into more of a focus on songwriting and hushed instrumentation, a bit of a departure from the EP album, which was packed with pop harmonies.

The album as a whole is a bit inconsistent, but the two tracks below, including the excellent song, “Welcome Home”, show some considerable promise. Check out the album, “Ghost”, out March 20th on Morr Music.

I agree, these songs are magnificent, even though the middle of the record gets a little samey.

Through the years, I have been a big fan of a few of their artists, especially Electric President, who’s self titled album from early in 2006 is one of the more underrated albums in the past couple years. You might also recognize that name because Ben Cooper, one half of Electric President, released an excellent solo disc earlier this year under the guise of Radical Face. [...]

[...] I really like the way Ben Cooper, one half of the Florida duo Electric President describes the new album, Sleep Well. Cooper says the album is “twelve songs about dreams and nightmares.” And that is exactly how I felt about it, even before reading the quote. This is the second album from Electric President, which took a break while Ben was doing a side project we loved called Radical Face last year. [...]
