Recommended Cincinnati Concerts This Fall

Man, it has been way too long since I have taken in a good concert. With the craziness of life surrounding, and the lacklusterthanational.jpg stuff that has been through the area lately, I have been way behind on good live music. Luckily, the fall in shaping up to be a great one with loads of good shows. Things begin to heat up this weekend as The National and St. Vincent will be in town to play on Sunday evening. Here is what I am gonna do my best to attend over the next couple months, what about you?

Bloc Party & Deerhoof – Wednesday Sept. 26 @ The Madison
Regina Spektor – Wednesday Oct. 3 @ Bogarts

It’s nice to see a good lineup in the coming months. It’s been since Spring since there was a good string of shows. And there’s actually some good stuff coming to Bogarts, which is a nice change given the last 5 years or so at that venue. If you have any face paint leftover from last Halloween, Man Man is playing Southgate on Oct 11th. Muth Math is playing Bogarts Oct 14th; if they’re your cup of tea, they put on a pretty rockin’ live show.
And Joe, you won’t admit it, but I’m sure you’ll be at Bogarts on Oct 4th to sing along with Lifehouse…

Man Joe, that Mountain Goats show is absolutely unreal news. I’ll be in Chicago this weekend, and even though it’s sold out right now, I’m going to head down to the Vic Theatre to try and catch a ticket to the National show. Also, Josh Ritter is playing Southgate House on 11/4, which is a guaranteed great, interactive show.
