Robbers on High Street are a band that burst on the scene early last year and stumbled into a pretty large amount of blog buzz. And over a year later I can now say for sure that it was well deserved. Tree City, the debut from the New York based band, was full of sounds that reminded me of Echo and the Bunnymen or even Spoon, and Im game for a band with those quality influences.
The new EP, is a digital only release that you can grab on ITunes. I really am digging the tune, The Fatalist, as well as the cover of Paul McCartney’s “Monkberry Moon Delight.” This EP is just an appetizer for the soon to drop full lenght which is due out in January on New Line.
ROHS are also a part of the soundtrack for the film “Fast Food Nation“, which just hit theatres last week. The song “Debonair” is featured on the soundtrack which also includes, Spoon, The Capitol Years, Elvis Perkins and others. Check out a trailer for the film here.
Also, Robbers on High Street will be here in Cincinnati on Dec 3 @ Alchemize, should be a great show.
