Robert Pollard & The Boston Spaceships

Bob Pollard is one busy guy, constantly creating new music, with already enough music to fill 4 full albums (or more) since parting ways with legendary Ohio band Guided By Voices. I have been bostonspaceships Robert Pollard & The Boston Spaceshipsimpressed with his latest album, Robert Pollard Is Off To Business, which is the first on his brand new label, Guided By Voices Inc.

And now, with the revamping of Cincinnati’s Midpoint Music Festival coming along nicely, Robert Pollard, who always does incredibly well here in the tri-state, will be part of the bill at this years festival. And not just by himself either, but with his new band, The Boston Spaceships. The Spaceships are made up of Bob, John Moen of The Decemberists, and fellow ex-GBV member Chris Slusarenko. The album from Bob’s new band is slated for release in September, but you can get a taste of what to expect right now with the mp3 below.

And according to Mike Breen over at Spill It, it looks like the Midpoint date will be the first for the newly formed band as they kick off a big tour to promote the new record, pretty cool!

About

Joe started ENS in 2003 after most people he wanted to talk to about music were worn thin by his ramblings. The outlet this site provided helped out, and somehow is still going 9 years later. After a four year stint as a WOXY DJ, Joe returned to Cincinnati and continues to pioneer ENS. In addition to the overall look and feel of the site, Joe provides regular reviews, and kinda makes sure this whole thing stays afloat.
