One of the best things to come out of Knoxville since the 1982 World’s Fair is without question the music of Royal Bangs. The band released an excellent debut album that got the attention of Patrick Carney of The Black Keys, who decided to re-issue the album on his Audio Eagle label last year. And now, the boys are back and hitting it as hard as ever with a brand new album, Let It Beep, due out this fall, once again on Audio Eagle.

The new record was recorded in Akron, Ohio, home of the Keys, at Tangerine Sound Studios and if this first song is any indication, the new album is gonna be a must listen. The first tune is titled “My Car Is Haunted” and it brings the same ferocity that a live show from Royal Bangs delivers. It also sounds like the band has been digging into some old record crates for 70’s and early 80’s pop music as well, and at times reminds me of LCD Soundsystem. So enjoy the first tune from the new album below, and get ready for the record this fall.
