Imagine my excitement when I was driving down Main Street in Covington recently and saw an indie record store that had never been there before! Thats right, a brand spanking new indie record shop called Rumble Records is now open in the heart of Covington.
I went through the selection and it was top notch. Im sure they will be able to beef up their used area very soon as well and they have a nice vinyl selection already. Ive yet to get into vinyl collecting, but I can hear the addiction calling.
One of the best things I can see about the new place is they are doing in store performances. I love a good in store, and they already have The Turnbull ACs lined up for July 14th @ 9:30.
I had to of course make a few purchases to get things started on the right foot so I picked up these two cds today.
Jens Lekman - Oh you’re so silent Jens
I had to finally make this purchase since Jens will be in town later this month and Im a big fan. Id just listened to this album digitally until now.
Devotchka - Curse your little heart
Also a digital listen until today, and a very good one. One of my favorites so far this year.
I think Rumble Records and I are gonna be friends.
