Score One For The Indie Crowd!

Easily the best part of last nights Oscars was when Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova won the Oscar for Best Original Song for “Falling Slowly” from the great picture, Once.

Congrats Glen and Marketa!

    I thought the best part of the Oscars was when Marketa came back to the mic after being cut off the first time. Surprisingly touching.

    I was so happy about this win, and even more so since they let Marketa come back out after the break. Aside from my own exuberant reaction to their performance (even after hearing the song many times), I think the crowd’s reaction really proved/solidified that they were worthy of the Oscar. What an amazing song.
