Spent a Friday evening on Cincinnati’s Fountain Square yet this summer? Well, the Indie Summer Series, put on by the good folks at MidPoint Music Festival is going strong again this year, and this Friday’s show looks like another winner.

The Ridges, one of Cincinnati’s young bright shining stars, are taking the stage downtown in support of Bloodshot Records own Ha Ha Tonka. It’s a perfect pairing, with plenty of plaid, facial hair and all around great folk rock.

The Ridges even put together this great video to preview the show, check it out.

The free, outdoor show will start with The Ridges’ set at 7PM sharp(!) and will also feature a set from Izzy & The Catastrophics.

About

Joe started ENS in 2003 after most people he wanted to talk to about music were worn thin by his ramblings. The outlet this site provided helped out, and somehow is still going 9 years later. After a four year stint as a WOXY DJ, Joe returned to Cincinnati and continues to pioneer ENS. In addition to the overall look and feel of the site, Joe provides regular reviews, and kinda makes sure this whole thing stays afloat.

Nice set from the Ridges on Friday. Really enjoyed that.

Another great weekend of music: The Ridges on Friday, Rod Stewart/Stevie Nicks at Riverbend on Saturday (love me some Stevie!), and then best of all, Over the Rhine at the newly revamped Washington Park last night in Over the Rhine. Just fabulous.
