This post is not about a band or really anything we usually rant about here on Each Note Secure. But still, I am pretty excited about this purchase.
Do you have one? Let me know what you think and what your experience has been with this or similar models, I am excited about getting some of my vinyl in digital format, and some of it certainly will end up here on ENS as well.
Here are some of the “official” notes about this turntable….
With the iPTUSB, ION has created a revolutionary battery operated portable USB turntable enabling you to convert your old vinyl collection to CD or MP3 using included recording software. (NO SPECIAL DRIVERS NEEDED)
The iPTUSB turntable also has a line level output for connecting to any home stereo with an AUX input and a built-in speaker for stand-alone operation.
EZ Vinyl Converter by MixMeister is included free with the iPTUSB and provides the easiest way to convert your records to your computer’s digital music library. Simply plug in your iPTUSB turntable, specify track information and in a few mouse clicks you’re done! EZ Vinyl Converter automatically imports your songs directly into your iTunes library.
Once digitally converted, you can sort your music, make custom playlists, and easily take songs with you on an iPod or play them directly from your computer. Finally your record collection can be available wherever you are.
In addition, the iPTUSB comes with free Audacity software for editing your recorded tracks. Audacity helps remove clicks, pops and other noises from your recordings to restore the full quality of your vinyl. It even enables you to convert 78 RPM records.
I’ve been thinking about buying this for weeks now, though I think I’m hoping Santa will it bring it for me instead. Let us know how it performs!
How much does it cost? I would love one of those, if it’s affordable.
Chris, just snagged mine for 120$ on Insound, good price I think…
Does this thing recognize the pauses between cuts or do you end up with one humongous file per side?
I’ve read reviews on some of these turntables and that was a recurring complaint — you had to record each song separately.
If they have that worked out $120 is a steal!

I would be interested in a review of how this ends up working, especially with regard to sound quality in the transfer. Hope that it works out well for you!
