It’s a compare and contrast game today here on ENS. The boys outta Springfield, Missouri that thought up their name trotting through a suburban mall years ago, and had the courage to keep it, are back with a new song. The tune, titled, “Half Awake, (Deb)”, is an excellent, but different sound for the boys, and as the Gum already mentioned, sounds like it could have easily come from a Pinback record.

I thought I’d grab that song for you, and set it up against an early Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin track, from their split release via Catbird Records. The song is “Lower the Gas Prices, Howard Johnson” and is aptly titled given the petrol hike the U.S. continues to see this time of year. Enjoy a brand new and a not so new from the boys in SSLYBY.
