Best news of the day! I absolutely LOVE the Besnard Lakes, and their 2007 album was in my top 3 of that year's "best of" list. (Their first album ain't bad either, by the way.) Can't wait to buy the new one. I saw the Besnard Lakes open up for PP&J at Bogart's in early December of 2007, in what became one of THE best shows of the entire year: first the up-and-coming Pomegranates, then the Besnard Lakes in an epic 45 min. set, and then Peter Bjorn and John, at the peak of their "Writer's Block" popularity. I had hoped to catch the Besnard Lakes live again (in fact I spoke with them after their set and BEGGED them to come back and play at the Southgate), but they barely toured in 08 and 09. Hopefully they'll be on the road in support of the new album. I hope WOXY will spin the new Lakes album as much as they did the previous album. Joe, thanks for the heads up. Best news of the day!
