Hometown faves The Black Keys returned to the Tri-State area last night to play to a packed house in Covington at The Madison. While I dont think the album they are touring, Magic Potion, is much to talk about, I am a big fan of their back catalouge. And its always a sort of homecoming for the Akron, Ohio natives in the Cincinnati area, which translates to high energy from the guys and from the crowd. Last night was no exception.
Of course the guys were ready to take things up a notch last night, Dan took the stage and introduced the hulking man that is Patrick, as if we needed an introduction. They proceeded to mushroom into the set which included lots from Magic Potion, including what I think is the best tune from the album, “Your Touch”. Also mixed in were the old standbys, including, “Busted”, “The Breaks”, and “Set You Free” from my personal favorites Keys album, “Thickfreakness”.

Have a look at a few pics from the set last night.

Also, if you want lots more photos, visit my Flickr photo set from The Black Keys set last night.
