We like to tell you about concerts coming to town that we care about here on ENS, and this one is no exception. But it does have a different spin on it than most other shows that come to town. The difference is that not only does this show / tour have a corporate sponsor, but it was apparently curated by The Black Lips. The show is being put together by Vitaminwater and Vice Magazine and is being billed as “a series of concerts that give local emerging artists an opportunity to perform in front of area and industry influencers.”

I have to admit, I’m slightly skeptical, I mean, are The Black Lips going to be there just to take in the show and support the bill they curated? Probably not. Will anyone from Vice Magazine be there taking photos that might end up in their print product at some point? Also unlikely. I guess maybe we can at least expect one of those coolers on wheels full of free Vitaminwater right? Well, at least Cincinnati is a part of the tour.

Thankfully, once you get past the sponsor names, the bill is really great, showcasing some great Cincinnati bands at one of our favorite Cincinnati venues. The show features Sacred Spirits, The Harlequins and Weakness. It all goes down on Thursday night at MOTR in Over The Rhine. So get yourself down to the show if you can, all shows at MOTR are free. So get down there and support some local music, and maybe get some free Vitaminwater! If not, just buy some Hudy Amber Lager….
