The Colour – Between Earth and Sky

The Colour
Sometimes you pop a CD into your player with zero expectations and it just pops. Sometimes it just sounds good, coming up with the words to describe the how and why are secondary. Thats the way I felt when I first listened to “Between Earth and Sky”, the upcoming release from The Colour.

The Colour are just another LA music scene act to some, but those folks probably havent heard this new album. It was an odd thing for a couple reasons, one is that I got this way before the release (its scheduled to drop in Feb 07), and also because the promo material described the boys as the “flagship band” for the new EMI label Rethink.

The Colour conjure up early raucous Rock N Roll influences throughout. I wont fuel the fire that Ive seen from others which parellel them to the like of early Stones or Jim Morrison. But I will say that The Colour probably have worn out their collective copies of Exile on Main Street. And after doing some research, it appears that this is a reformation of sorts for the band.

Enjoy these two great songs from The Colour, this may not be everyones cup of tea, but I say its pretty good…..

I miss The Colour. Such a slick sound came from their stage. Maybe we’ll see some side projects come out soon.
