The Early Tapes are the latest in a long list of indie bands to come out of the Austin area. The band is a trio of young guys and they have all the makings of a typical indie band. However, they take a not so typical approach to indie rock, citing influences like The Stooges, Zeppellin and The Rolling Stones. So far they have only a handful of demo recordings for your digestion but are planning to go into the studio this year with Erik Wofford, who does the recording for Voxtrot and The Black Angels, two Austin alums.

The Early Tapes are also a favorite of Chris from GVB, and hes got them playing tonight as a part of his showcase in Dallas, so be sure to check them out if you are in the area tonight, more info on the showcase here.

Also, The Early Tapes are making their Cincinnati debut next Thursday night at The Comet in Northside, playing with Lonely The Seabird. Be sure to head out for a burrito and some great live tunes.
