I’m happy today to be posting about the latest in a great video series here in Cincinnati. I posted some time ago about The Emery Sessions, curated and executed by Michael Wilson, Cameron Cochran and Henry Wilson.

The subject of the latest session is Bill Frisell, who I originally became a fan of when he played the MusicNOW Festival here in Cincinnati back in 2008.

Frisell is one of the leading jazz guitarists in the world and came to Cincinnati with the 858 Quartet for a special performance. The show was the world premier of Musical Portraits from Heber Springs: Bill Frisell’s Disfarmer Project arranged for the 858 Quartet. Inspired by the life and subjects of eccentric photographer Mike Disfarmer. But before he took that stage the Emery Sessions cameras caught a few songs on video.

Enjoy two new Emery Session videos below.

About

Joe started ENS in 2003 after most people he wanted to talk to about music were worn thin by his ramblings. The outlet this site provided helped out, and somehow is still going 9 years later. After a four year stint as a WOXY DJ, Joe returned to Cincinnati and continues to pioneer ENS. In addition to the overall look and feel of the site, Joe provides regular reviews, and kinda makes sure this whole thing stays afloat.
