I’m really enjoying the brand new album from The Fiery Furnaces, I’m Going Away. It so far, has been one of my favorite summer records in 2009. It just has a poppy sunny feel to it I guess. And now we get a great video from the band highlighting one of my favorite songs on the record.

The vid is for Charmaine Champagne, and just in case you were curious, the lyrics are not explicit, and the chorus Elenor sings, “She’s gonna get my folked up, fairly beat”.

Enjoy the video below, and don’t forget The Fiery Furnaces will be in Cincinnati on August 7th as a part of the Indie Rock summer series on Fountain Square. This is a show that is not to be missed!

Joe started ENS in 2003 after most people he wanted to talk to about music were worn thin by his ramblings. The outlet this site provided helped out, and somehow is still going 9 years later. After a four year stint as a WOXY DJ, Joe returned to Cincinnati and continues to pioneer ENS. In addition to the overall look and feel of the site, Joe provides regular reviews, and kinda makes sure this whole thing stays afloat.

This isn’t normally my type of music, but the moment I heard the brass, I started bobbing my head LOL.
It’s really decent music, though I don’t like the singer’s voice too much.
