I always hear bands or singers that have a twangy or countryish sound to them described as dusty, and I guess that makes sense, in the vocab of a music blogger, but does anyone else understand what that might mean? Anyway, I guess I mentioned that because the new disc from The Kamikaze Hearts arrived this week and its got a bit of a dusty sound to it. There I did it too…..great.
I guess what I mean by that though is the collaborative vocals and harmonies recall a dusty country road on a hot August day. The tunes seem to follow along, instruments in hand and melodies through the air. I know Craig from Songs Illinois is probably a fan of these guys, seems like his cup of tea. And wait, I just checked and it appears hes already written about them this week. The best way to boil it down is “good folk music”, yeah, Ill stick with that.
