The Ralph Jones Band are an act that seems to be easy to describe. Thier sound is both southern and indie at the same time. Both My Morning Jacket and Red Hot Chilli Peppers at times. Im leaning towards thier twang though. Im liking thier songwriting skills as well. This Lexington, KY based band is certainly obscure, but worth a listen.

Joe started ENS in 2003 after most people he wanted to talk to about music were worn thin by his ramblings. The outlet this site provided helped out, and somehow is still going 9 years later. After a four year stint as a WOXY DJ, Joe returned to Cincinnati and continues to pioneer ENS. In addition to the overall look and feel of the site, Joe provides regular reviews, and kinda makes sure this whole thing stays afloat.

Bought their second disc(just for the scenery) at a show in Cincinnati… Love the sound of the recording and the song writing is so different…. super enjoyable listening
The label is state bird records i think though, not commonwealth. Says on the credits that Joe Burns recorded it at commonwealth audio…guess that’s the studio…. on the spine it has state bird records and a release # I believe?
