The Swell Season – Artists Den DVD

Filed in Music News, Tour Dates and Videos 4 comments

The Swell Season are Glen Hansard and swellseason The Swell Season Artists Den DVDMarketa Irglova, the duo that has made a new name for themselves thanks to their amazing work on the Once film and soundtrack. The soundtrack is brilliant and these two are just amazing together. And now they have an official band name as well I guess, The Swell Season.

They filmed a performance at the Good Shepherd Center Chapel in Seattle, a historic landmark built in 1906 as a shelter for young wayward or orphaned girls just before they won their Oscar, and it was captured as a part of the “Artists Den” series.

The DVD got a release earlier this month and I got to watch a screener of it recently which was brilliant. The venue captures a bit of the magic Glen and Marketa bring to the screen on Once and on the soundtrack. Here are the songs they play for the DVD.

1. Say It To Me Now
2. Lay Me Down
3. All The Way Down
4. This Low
5. When Your Mind’s Made Up
6. Lies
7. Drown Out
8. Falling Slowly
9. Golden
10. Pavement Tune
11. Once
12. If You Want Me
13. Concentric
14. Star Star

Enjoy this clip from the DVD and be sure to pick it up, looks like a must have for all fans of Once.

The Swell Season Artists Den DVD

Joe started ENS in 2003 after most people he wanted to talk to about music were worn thin by his ramblings. The outlet this site provided helped out, and somehow is still going 9 years later. After a four year stint as a WOXY DJ, Joe returned to Cincinnati and continues to pioneer ENS. In addition to the overall look and feel of the site, Joe provides regular reviews, and kinda makes sure this whole thing stays afloat.
