What do you get when you deprive a media junkie from the internet, television and even newspapers? Well, apparently you get a great record, since that is just what the backstory is for The Week That Was. Peter Brewis, who is best known as the frontman for the excellent indie pop band Field Music, took a break from the mentioned forms of media for awhile, and focused on writing music.

The result are the 8 tracks on the new album from his project The Week That Was, which also features his brother David, and several others (TWTW is a 9 piece band) pushing the pop music envelope. The album has quickly become one of my favorite new discoveries in recent months.
