thewhip The Whip remix an old song by The Music
It feels like forever since I was listening to The Music, a promising young brit band who released a great debut album back in 2002. I saw them open for Coldplay right around that same time and really thought they were fun live as well. The band released a couple album in the years since, but nothing that grabbed me the way their self titled debut did. And speaking of great debut albums, I really enjoyed the first disc from The Whip a few years ago as well, so while perusing my inbox today I noticed both The Whip and The Music mentioned in an email and well, it got my attention.

The Whip have dusted off and remixed one of my favorite songs from The Music, a tune off of the aforementioned debut called “The People.” In true Whip fashion, it’s kind of a club hit, and the band put their signature all over the track, it’s a free download in exchange for your email address, check it out below.

Stop following me around Joe! ;-)

The Music @ Bogart’s 12-1-02 (opening for the Vines)
The Music @ The Louisville Palace 3-10-03 (opening for Coldplay)

Where are the days?

Their debut album was really good, but live they were even better. Dark and dense and loud. Great! Can’t believe it’s been 9 years already since their first album. I wonder if they even are around anymore. Their second album was OK, not great, and then I lost track of them.
