This is a great list! I spend a lot of time trying to find sites that concentrate on assiting artists in areas of promotions. Some of the sites help in commerce BUT not promotions. As an artists I tend to think the sites that do both are the best! Artist should have complete control!
One I think could be huge if artists and listeners adopt it is the Ultimate Ears Interactive Player. They have a new Free Interactive Radio Player that allows musicians to promote music to friends and fan base through a player and a communications page on a personal web site. It is a cool place to discover new music and they have a good library of Independent Music.
All you have to do is go to http://www.tastyaudio.com/ultimateears/enroll
The registration code for artists is ultimateears. No code is required for people who just want to discover new music.
For artists this allows you to control the distribution of your songs, promote your band, and identify who is listening to your music!
For listeners it is a place to discover new music everyday, to share music with your friends, and to remember songs you like. You can also add personal images and audio clips to send with songs that you forward to friends.
