Alan over at Sixeyes and I seem to be on the same wavelength so far this week. First he posted on a 2002 Uncut mix CD that I cherish and then he stole a bit of my thunder by posting on the great new work from the band Travels. Normally, I might shy away from posting on the band so soon after another great blogger does but not today, as the word needs to be spread as much as possible.
Travels is a collaboration between Anar Badalov and Mona Elliot. Which makes it one part Metal Hearts (Anar) and one part Victory at Sea (Mona). The two got together after touring together and have melded to make some really beautiful tunes. They are also taking the home recording route, which is quite refreshing and clean in their case. They threw together some songs and are already getting a bit of attention from some labels. Looks like a band to keep an eye on this year.
