I was playing a couple of songs recently for my wife that I was really loving lately. After hearing the first two, she remarked that I really loved bands with vocal harmonies. And after denying it at first, I gotta admit, its true, Im a sucker for them. Especially a lovely 4 part harmony like Via Audio likes to use.
Via Audio are a really excellent pop outfit that combines the harmonies that I enjoy with playful lyrics to make an indie pop outfit that brings to mind The Cardigans or even Rilo Kiley. Add in the endorsement Death Cabs Chris Walla doled out with the recording of the new album alongside Spoon’s Jim Eno and you’ve got a solid amount of potential. One track in particular ive had a hard time not spinning every single day of late, “We Can Be Good.” Have a listen, and Happy New Year!
