Whenever I hear a band compared to Sigur Ros my ears perk up a bit. Quite often the comparison couldnt be further from the truth but occasionally what got me listening gets me closer to that band. This is certainly the case with Voices and Organs. While I certainly can understand the comparison with Sigur Ros, the music I hear is more hushed vocally and not quite as orchestral, if that is a word.
Here is the official PR word about Voices and Organs….
Voices and Organs is a musical project which started in the Autumn of 2004 as a collection of short stories. These stories turned into songs and songs turned into a record soon to be released on Western Vinyl as “Orphanage.” Rooted in the groups’ love of fiction, the record deals with childhood/adolescent isolation through a series of short stories about a young boy and girl in an orphanage.
