It’s great to live in a city where local music continues to blossom, and we have yet another new band to introduce to you today. Technically, Walk The Moon are not “new” and have been rising for awhile now, but they are about to hit a big milestone this weekend with their first official album release. Walk The Moon have already garnered praise around Cincinnati for their energetic live show, and now that they have laid it all down for this album, it won’t be long before more well deserved praise starts flowing in.
The pop quartet boasts dancy melodic hooks and a tight sound usually reserved for bands with alot more experience than they have. The new album, i want! i want! gets an official release on November 13th, this Saturday and the band will be celebrating with a release show here in town at The Mockbee. Attendees are not only encouraged to attend the gig, but might also want to participate in the festivities surrounding the stage as well. Fans will be dressing in the theme of Neverland’s Lost Boys, taking advantage of the face-painting booth provided by local artists, and graffiti-ing giant canvasses that will be lining the walls of The Mockbee.
Supporting Walk The Moon at their debut show are special guests Gold Shoes, Harlequins, DJ Dustin Chow and DJ Devon Cherry, as well as a performance by dancers from Pones, Inc.
The Mockbee is located at 2260 Central Parkway Cincinnati, OH 45214. Tickets are available at the door for $5.00, doors at 9 PM. i want! i want! will be available for purchase on CD, digitally through iTunes and here, and on limited-edition cassette tapes.
Check out this great track from the new album for free download, and a preview of the video, which will also be unveiled Saturday night.
