Have you made your way down to the newly renovated Washington Park in OTR yet? If you haven’t, you might be surprised how great it is. Alot of hard work and money went into the project, so they aren’t going to just let it sit there. The crew at MidPoint Music Festival already have their foot in the door at the newly renovated park, and today announced that the area would serve as the main stage for the festival this September, moving from Grammaers, where the main stage was the last couple years.

Here is the official release from the folks at MPMF.

MidPoint Music Festival (MPMF) announced today that Over the Rhine’s recently renovated and opened Washington Park and its Civic Lawn space will serve as this year’s all-ages access main stage for the eleventh edition of the downtown Cincinnati festival, hosting the likes of MPMF.12 headliners Andrew Bird, Grizzly Bear and Sleigh Bells.
These notable artists and their special guests will be performing from 4-10PM each day of the September 27-29 festival. All Washington Park performances will be ticketed events, requiring an All Music Access Pass, a VIP Pass, or the now available individual Washington Park Thursday, Friday or Saturday ticket to access the performance area. A total of 4 acts will play each evening of the festival.

Thursday, September 27, Andrew Bird with Special Guests ($25)

Friday September 28, Grizzly Bear with Special Guests ($30)

Saturday, September 29, Sleigh Bells with Special Guests ($30)

Joe started ENS in 2003 after most people he wanted to talk to about music were worn thin by his ramblings. The outlet this site provided helped out, and somehow is still going 9 years later. After a four year stint as a WOXY DJ, Joe returned to Cincinnati and continues to pioneer ENS. In addition to the overall look and feel of the site, Joe provides regular reviews, and kinda makes sure this whole thing stays afloat.

I haven’t been to the removated park yet, but plan on going to the free Over the Rhine (the band) show next week Sunday (7/22). Can’t wait to see it, I’ve heard nothing but great things so far. And this should be an awesome “ground zero” point for MDMF!
