If you stop by our humble little site at all you know we are massive fans of WOXY and had a proper sendoff on Septemeber 15th as the station went under. Well, things have been buzzing ever since then, and the buzz just got much louder. Last Wednesday a mysterious poster left this note on the WOXY message boards with the thread title, “White Knight”.
Hey folks, we’d like to save woxy. You can learn more about us at lala.com, but we’re very well funded and humbled by the great work the people here have done. Please tell the fab four at woxy to contact us.
Bill Nyguen was the poster, the founder of Lala.com, a CD trading service with a lean towards the indie artist, and while most were very skeptical, the discussion exploded. You can read the entire thread here…
But beware, its reallllllly long.
Things appear to be moving at an amazing rate. Bill posted this message this weekend to that effect, which The Shiv echoed on his blog.
Update – I’ve spoken with Mike, Shiv, and Bryan. The listeners and fans of WOXY have some amazing custodians carrying on the tradition in these guys. I hope to speak with Babs as well.
I expect to be in Cincinnati on Monday in the afternoon. I hope to explain our vision to the angel investors and propose a deal to acquire WOXY. As I’ve mentioned before, I have complete faith in Mike, Shiv, and Bryan and will have offers in hand for them to continue and guide WOXY.
If we can make this happen, we have several great things in mind. First, it’s going to be free – no more premium service. Second, the audio quality is going to increase. We’ll bump the audio quality at least by 3x. Third, we’ll get this back up as quickly as possible (maybe as short as a week).
Finally, I want to find a way to thank Doug and Linda for their vision. I’m very much following in their foot steps two decades later.
I’m working on a way to hold an open gathering somewhere in Cincinnati on Monday night if you’re interested in a beer and a ‘hello’.
Regards,
bill
Ill leave it at that for now, expect some other news soon.

“Just when I thought I was out… they pull me back in.” Great news for fans of GOOD music everywhere. I hope all goes smoothly and WOXY is once again pulled back from the grave.
