WOXY.com Leaving Cincinnati, What About Each Note Secure?

Filed in Music News 9 comments

As you have probably seen in the past week or so, internet radio station WOXY.com from right here in Cincinnati is moving. The station has been based here in Ohio for 26 years and is on the move to Austin, Texas starting in September. This affects many fans of the station in various ways and it also affects Each Note Secure. For those that do not know for some reason, I am one of the staffers at WOXY.com and have been for the past three years. During that time I founded the WOXY.com blog, The Futurist and at the same time continued to keep Each Note Secure what I started it as, a Cincinnati music blog.

With the station moving to Austin, my family and I will be moving as well to continue to help push “The Future Of Rock N’ Roll” forward to more and more listeners. This opportunity will give WOXY.com even more access to bands that travel through Texas and allow us to bring our listeners even more top notch content as well.

But, it begs the question, what about Each Note Secure? After all, how can you be a Cincinnati music blog without being in Cincinnati?

I have thought this over quite a bit and have decided that I don’t want to stop covering the Cincinnati scene. I love Cincinnati and I always will. I love the city, the sports teams, the food, and most of all, the music. So I have opted to continue covering the scene even though I will no longer be living in the area. Thanks to some great contributors, and a search for some more, I think the coverage will not diminish, but will as a result improve over time, as I begin to bring you coverage from Austin as well.

And so, as it started, it will continue, Each Note Secure is a Cincinnati music blog.

Thanks,

Joe

WOXY.com Leaving Cincinnati, What About Each Note Secure?

About

Joe started ENS in 2003 after most people he wanted to talk to about music were worn thin by his ramblings. The outlet this site provided helped out, and somehow is still going 9 years later. After a four year stint as a WOXY DJ, Joe returned to Cincinnati and continues to pioneer ENS. In addition to the overall look and feel of the site, Joe provides regular reviews, and kinda makes sure this whole thing stays afloat.

First of all congrats Joe!
Second…I’ve been following your blog all the way from the UK for years. Even if you toned down the Cincinnati aspect of it, it’s still an interesting and viable blog.
Good luck.

Thanks, Joe. With WOXY leaving Cincinnati I was worried that I would lose one of my main connections to the city’s music scene. I had to leave the city to go to grad school, but I wanted to keep in touch with the great music coming out of Cincy. I’m glad to hear that Each Note will still be covering the Cincinnati music scene.

Great news Joe. I’ve been a long time follower of your blog and would’ve hated to see it get discontinued.

Still kinda in disbelief you guys are actually going to be moving away, uprooting family and all. But I whole-heartedly support you guys, and am excited that WOXY will continue and get stronger.

Congratulations on the move Joe. I hope it’s a strong move for WOXY. With tht in mind, I’m also glad you’re maintaining ENS from afar. I’ve been doing the same with Backseat Sandbar, and it gets tough, but is manageable if you can dedicate the time to it. Moving to a new city takes a lot of adjustments. Have you considered adding a writer who could help make the transition smooth?
