More and more, artists are deciding that they want their music to be heard, and they want to be the ones in control of how that goes down. The ‘just give it away free’ topic has been discussed over and over again, so I won’t take us down that path today, but it’s interesting to see another Cincinnati band choose to put out their new album, and do it for free.
That is what You, You’re Awesome decided to do, dropping their new album, Good Point, Whoever Said That, their first long player, today.
You can go to the band’s site and get the album for free today in exchange for your email address, which is a great deal if you asked me. YYA continue to be ahead of the game with their sound, and I’m proud that they continue to take risks to get their music in front of their fans, and gain new fans as a result.
All new music Euro. We are a bit against recycling unnecessarily.
Thanks for clarifying Yusef! I hope you guys are selling CD copies of it at the upcoming Indie Summer show on Fountain Square (next week already, wow!)
Yusef, as it turns out I need to go to Belgium later today to deal with a family situation and hence I will miss the set Friday evening…. I’ll catch up with you another time!
I guess I’m just a purist. I paid for a copy Friday along with a sweet T-shirt!

Haven’t checked it out yet, but I will. I wonder if it’s all new music, or whether any tracks from their previois 3 EPs made it onto here…
